You can work with your partner on any topic. The projects must be distributed equally between the use of ICT and class activities, as well as adapted to the national school programs of the centers participating in the project.

Once a teacher registers, the eTwinning representative of the Autonomous Community to which the center belongs contacts the director of the Educational Center to verify that the teacher is currently part of the center’s teaching staff. For all these reasons, it is necessary that the details of the school director be updated in the school profile in eTwinning Live.
Once the eTwinning representative receives approval from the director, they will proceed to validate the teacher’s registration.
When you register on the eTwinning Portal, you can use any language as all information is translated. However, to discuss your project idea, use a commonly used language (such as English, French, or German) or more than one language. This information is no longer translated, so it is up to you to make it more or less easy to understand for other European schools.

There are different types of eTwinning recognition for projects and teachers: eTwinning Seal, National Quality Seal, European Quality Seal, National Awards, European Awards. This type of recognition, in some cases, translates into administrative recognition by some Autonomous Communities and Cities.
When a project is approved and starts working, the eTwinning Seal is automatically generated, which is in electronic format and can be downloaded from the teacher’s own desktop. This is a recognition of the teacher.
Teachers can apply to their National Services for the granting of a Quality Seal. This is awarded to projects that reach a certain level of quality. The entire process is done from the user’s desktop. There are a series of common criteria for all participating countries, which are those that appear in the online form. You can see these criteria and the specification of them made by the Spanish SNA, in a series of articles that you will find in the Recognition section on the Rubric. The rubric is also a useful guide for teachers who are going to start a new project by clicking here . The evaluation of a project for the Quality Seal is carried out by the SNA in collaboration with the corresponding Autonomous Community. This is an individual recognition of the teacher, not the project.
When a project receives at least two National Quality Seals from two different countries, and is also proposed by one of them for the European Quality Seal, it is automatically awarded. This is an individual recognition of the teacher, not the project.
Annually the Spanish SNA announces the National eTwinning Awards. The criteria are similar to those of the Quality Seal, but, in this case, the number is limited (normally 10 projects are awarded). Normally three age categories are called (from 4 to 11 years; from 12 to 15; from 16 to 19), and depending on the year, other categories are included such as awards for new teachers, awards for center teams, and others. The call is published in the Official State Gazette, on the portal of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, on eTwinning Live and on the website of the eTwinning National Support Service. This is a recognition of the project and those participants in the project who have the National Quality Seal on the date of the National Award application call are awarded.
On an annual basis, the Central Support Service announces the European eTwinning Awards. Three age categories are called (from 4 to 11 years; from 12 to 15; from 16 to 19). Additionally, there may be other special categories. Two projects are selected per category. The prize is the attendance of the finalist and winning teachers at the Awards Ceremony in Brussels, invited by the SCA. For a project to be eligible for these awards, it is an essential requirement that it has previously obtained a European Quality Seal. This is a recognition of the project and those participants in the project who have the European Quality Seal on the date of the European Award application call are awarded.
On the SNA website, an article is published monthly showing a project that stands out for some aspect of quality: innovation, appropriate use of ICT tools, collaboration… It is not an official administrative recognition, but it represents recognition of the good practices carried out by the students, teachers and the centers involved.
Information about eTwinning Professional Development Seminars can be found on the eTwinning website. These face-to-face workshops are organized in different European countries and their objective is to introduce eTwinning projects to teachers and help them find partners abroad.
In Spain, a public call is opened every year. The bases are published in the Official State Gazette.
The annual eTwinning Conference brings together more than 500 teachers from all over Europe. This conference provides the opportunity for its participants to meet each other and establish networks of teachers, develop professional activities, share methodologies and practical cases, as well as feel part of a living community.
Didactic meetings are short, intensive virtual training activities that deal with different topics. They are led by experts and offer dynamic work with debates between teachers from all over Europe. Didactic meetings are based on the idea that a short and intensive course, as an introduction to a specific topic, stimulates ideas and helps develop skills. Additionally, it does not require a long-term commitment. They are also designed to be an enjoyable and engaging learning experience. Each meeting lasts four to five days of active work, along with discussions, followed by another four or five days of reflection and personal work. All materials are online, and can be accessed at any time. You will find the link to register on the European eTwinning portal or on the eTwinning Live home page.
